Report: Mercedes Martinez Signs Deal With WWE

Independent wrestling star Mercedes Martinez has signed a contract with WWE.

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer confirmed an original report from SoCalUnsencored that 39-year old Martinez signed a contract with WWE. According to the report she will be starting at the WWE Performance Center this month.

Martinez competed in both Mae Young Classic tournaments, and has appeared on NXT television in the past.

She also worked two matches for All Elite Wrestling, once during the Women’s Casino Battle Royale at All Out last August, and also competed during AEW Dark in November.

Mercedez Martinez began training in 2000 under Jason Knight. She has competed for various promotions over her 20-year career including ROH, WXW, STARDOM, and SHINE Wrestling.
