The final moments of the Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch didn’t go as planned at this past weekend’s AEW Revolution.

Following the show, Jon Moxley addressed the crowd, blaming Kenny Omega for the failed explosion. Tony Khan echoed a similar statement during the post-show media scrum, blaming Kenny Omega in storyline.

According to Fightful Select (subscription required), a third-party rigging crew was responsible for the botched explosion, but “were not very apologetic about the way that things happened, leading to pretty significant heat on them.”

The report confirmed Bryan Alvarez revealing Kenny Omega being upset about the situation. Alvarez mentioned Omega was “furious” on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio.

AEW addressed the incident during this week’s episode of Dynamite. Eddie Kingston explained the anticipation of an explosion made him reminisce about his time in prison.
