Rusev’s WWE contract is reportedly set to expire soon.

In the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer answered a listener’s question regarding the current contract status of Rusev. Meltzer stated that Rusev’s contract with WWE is expiring soon, but no exact date currently known.

Rusev is currently on leave of absence from the company, and although no return to work date is known, his hiatus is with the company is not expected to be long.

Meltzer speculated that the reason for the hiatus is due to him being unhappy, and also stated WWE could freeze his contract for the time he’s been off.

Rusev was last seen on WWE television at WWE’s Super ShowDown event in Saudi Arabia. He competed in the 50-Man Battle Royal.
