Following his appearance on last week’s episode of NXT on USA, Wade Barrett may be a making his return to WWE on a full-time basis.

According to PWInsider, Barrett met with WWE officials, and is in talks to make a full-time return as an announcer with the company.

“After making his return to WWE NXT as an announcer last week, Stu Bennett aka Wade Barrett met with WWE officials and is currently negotiating a full-time return to the company as an announcer,”

Wade Barrett appeared on last week’s edition of NXT, and will appear on tomorrow’s “NXT Super Tuesday” episode. These appearances are being noted as a “feeling out” to see if both sides were interested in working together moving forward.

WWE’s interest in Barrett dates back to early 2020. If Barrett does sign a deal with the company, it would only be to announce, and not return as an in-ring performer.

Over the last few days internal talks suggested he may return as an announcer for NXT UK.
