WWE Interested In Signing Top Independent Star

WWE is attempting to bring in one of the biggest independent wrestlers over the last five years, “Speedball” Mike Bailey.

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the company is trying to sign the Canadian-born Taekwondo master, who was banned from entering the U.S. back in 2016 when he came to the states without a proper work Visa to work a booking he had with EVOLVE.

The hardcore promotion Combat Zone Wrestling was attempting to get Bailey his Visa during the time, but the slow process ended up being the downfall. The ban, which was for five years, ended this past March. The report adds that WWE is working on getting those Visa issues taken care of.

Bailey is best remembered for his run during the golden age of PWG, where he competed against many of the big names currently in the industry, including Kenny Omega, the Young Bucks, Adam Cole, Johnny Gargano, and many more.

He has primarily worked the independent circuit around Europe and Canada over the last five years, with notable performances at wXw and OTT.
