Rey Mysterio Wins U.S Title

Rey Mysterio has captured the WWE United States Championship.

Tonight during RAW, Mysterio defeated AJ Styles to the WWE United States Championship for the second time.

Originally, AJ Styles was set to defend the United States Championship against Humberto Carillo, who was beatdown prior to the match by Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows.

Following that incident, a Fatal-Four Way match was setup to determine a new number one contender for a match later that night. Rey Mysterio defeated Randy Orton, Drew McIntyre, and Ricochet to gain the opportunity to face AJ Styles.

During his match with AJ Styles, Mysterio hit a 619, which caused Styles to hit the ref, leaving him temporarily incapacitated. Gallows and Anderson took advantage of this opportunity and attacked Mysterio. Randy Orton made the save, which allowed Mysterio to hit the 619, and Orton to hit a RKO. Mysterio proceeded to pin AJ Styles to win the match and the title.

Earlier this year at WWE Money In The Bank, Rey Mysterio defeated Samoa Joe to win his first U.S title. He later vacated it due to injury.
