Rhyno will be exiting WWE once his contract expires on July 17, 2019.

Rhyno recently spoke with Chris Van Vilet and revealed that WWE offered him double his downside guarantee to sign a new contract with the company. Rhyno states he turned down the offer, and will be leaving once his contract expires in July.

The reasoning behind Rhyno’s exit is not due to being unhappy, but rather him wanting to be on the road working, helping younger talent. WWE couldn’t guarantee he would be on the road, which Rhyno says he wants to do.

Rhyno said he would rather walk away from the company, so he can wrestle in the ring. He mentioned AEW, Impact, ROH, and New Japan Pro Wrestling, as well as working indies as prospects for his career after WWE.

He believes if he sat at home, he would be unhappy, and called this decision he made as “rolling the dice”.

Vince McMahon is allowing Rhyno to begin promoting any independent bookings once his contract expires.
