It seems that the health issues surrounding Ric Flair are extremely serious. The WWE Hall Of Famer is currently in a medically induced coma according to Fightful.com owner Jimmy Van.

A medically induced coma is when a patient receives a controlled dose of an anesthetic, typically propofol, pentobarbital or thiopental, to cause a temporary coma or a deep state of unconsciousness. This type of coma is used to protect the brain from swelling by reducing the metabolic rate of brain tissue, as well as the cerebral blood flow. Throughout a medically induced coma, a patient’s critical life functions are constantly monitored by an anesthesiologist or other physician in a critical care setting only.

Flair’s management put out a statement urging fans to keep him in his thoughts and pray for him during this serious medical issue.

Flair’s management team has not confirmed his current medical status, when reached out for a further comment nothing was given at the time of this writing.

Michael P.S Hayes did state that he saw Flair before leaving for Boston, and he can assure that he prayers and well wishes are needed for Hall of Famer.
