The brothers’ roar. A lil’ HOBBS & SHAW exclusive. Good times droppin’ sweat and spillin’ blood with my family, @RomanReigns who’ll be playing my brother in our FAST & FURIOUS UNIVERSE. I’m very proud of his focus, effort and authentic performance in our movie for his very first time on film. I’m also very grateful to spend this quality time with my cousin here in the islands as he takes life one day at a time to recover from leukemia. His perseverance and humility battling this challenge has inspired our entire family as well as millions around the world in our beloved @WWE Universe. Can’t wait to see the “Big Dog” return back to the ring – his positive & focused mindset to return is straight up next level. Til’ then, this sacred Samoan 🇼🇸 ground you stand on is nourished with our ancestors blood. Today, we nourish it with yours. #WelcomeRomanReigns #Brothers #HobbsAndShaw THIS SUMMER 🔥💪🏾 @hhgarcia41 📸

Family Healing! I cannot thank my family, friends and my new FAST & FURIOUS FAMILY enough for all the love and support I have received while on this exciting HOBBS & SHAW project. The time I‘ve spent with my cousin on this wonderful island has truly been a healing grace.  I am grateful to the @wwe @therock @universalpictures and everyone on the set of HOBBS & SHAW, for allowing me to be a part of this franchise. All of your outreach and support has been a blessing and it’s only pushed me to get back in the ring as soon as possible. But until then…I’m excited for this movie to premiere this summer, our culture and mana in this film is strong! 📸: @hhgarcia41 #HobbsAndShaw #BigDog #WelcomeRomanReigns #WWE #TheRock

Katsuyori Shibata Looking To Get Medically Cleared To Return To The Ring

Katsuyori Shibata is looking to get cleared to step into a ring once again.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Shibata is looking to get medically cleared following his recent appearance on the final night of the G1 Climax tournament.

“Katsuyori Shibata, he hasn’t been cleared, but he will be attempting to get cleared,” Meltzer stated. “He trains with his students, but the issue in question is whether it can ever be healthy for him to take head shots, and if he were to return as Katsuyori Shibata, can they work around that issue within the New Japan style.”

In 2017, Shibata collapsed backstage after a match with Kazuchika Okada at Sakura Genesis. The injury was caused by Shibata’s use of a headbutt, which he had been doing regularly since the prior year. Following his collapse, he was rushed to hopsital, where he was diagnosed with a subdural hematoma, which required emergency surgery. This caused Shibata to experience paralysis on one half of his body, and many to believe he would never wrestle again.

Following his recovery, Shibata was appointed head coach of New Japan Pro Wrestling’s dojo in Los Angeles, CA.

Shibata made a surprise appearance at the finals of the G1 Climax tournament earlier this month. Although he was not medically cleared to compete, he was involved in an angle with The Bullet Club, where he was beatdown.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported that AEW already had plans for PAC to be at the event. The company was able to shift his surprise appearance into a wrestling role due to Moxley not being able to compete.

Jon Moxley is also out of Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport event on 9/14. He is expected to be out of action for 4 weeks. The company is hopeful he will be cleared for the TNT debut on 10/2.
