During tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW, Shane McMahon announced a new concept, RAW Underground.

Earlier today, WWE announced Shane McMahon was set to appear on tonight’s episode. Throughout the day reports emerged that Shane McMahon was planning on introducing a new concept to Monday Night RAW.

During the broadcast, WWE developmental talent Jordan Omogbehin was seen guarding a door backstage. The door lead to “RAW Underground”, a new concept introduced by Shane McMahon, which involves Fight Club-esque bouts in a ring with no ropes.

Former UFC Champion Josh Barnett produces similar bouts under the banner GCW ‘BloodSport’. GCW’s matches are presented in as a worked-shoot with mixed martial arts elements that mimics catch wrestling and the early days of MMA.

Although specific rules have not been revealed, Shane McMahon introduced Dabba Kato, formerly known as Babatunde in NXT, who took out two opponents during a bout. Erik from The Viking Raiders also competed in a match.

At the tail end of the show, The Hurt Business appeared, announcing they have taken over RAW Underground. The trio took out several people, including NXT’s Dio Madden.
