Former Tye Dillinger Signs With AEW

Shawn Spears has officially signed a deal with All Elite Wrestling.

Formerly known as Tye Dillinger in WWE, All Elite Wrestling announced today the signing of Spears following his appearance at Double Or Nothing.

Spears revealed in an interview with Chris Van Vilet, his appearance at Double Or Nothing almost didn’t happen due to his 90 day no compete clause with WWE. If WWE waited an extra 24 hours, he would have not been able to appear.

Spears asked for his WWE release on February 19th, was verbally granted it on the 22nd, then given official paperwork the following week. Spears believes WWE provided him his release due to the mutual respect he gained during his time int he company.

His appearance during AEW’s Double Or Nothing ‘Casino Battle Royale’ was a one-off appearance at the time. Today, the announcement of his signing was revealed during ‘The Road To Fighter Fest” video.
