Matt Riddle was written off WWE television on the December 5 episode of Raw after he was viciously attacked by Solo Sikoa of the Bloodline. The attack occurred after Riddle and Kevin Owens unsuccessfully attempted to win the Undisputed Tag Team Championships.

WWE depicted Riddle leaving the arena in an ambulance, leading many to believe that his injury was legitimate. However, it has since been revealed that the injury angle was simply a cover for Riddle’s real reason for being written off television.

According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Riddle failed a second drug test this year, leading to the expectation that he would be going to rehab. This is not the first time that Riddle has violated WWE’s wellness policy, as he also failed a test earlier in the year. This violation was the reason why his match with Seth Rollins was moved from SummerSlam to the Clash at the Castle.

However, a source close to Riddle has disputed these reports, stating that Riddle is actually taking time off due to the pressure of going through a divorce. It is unclear at this time which of these reasons is the true reason for Riddle’s absence from WWE television.

Regardless of the reason for his absence, Riddle’s departure from WWE will be a significant loss for the company. Riddle has been a standout performer in the ring, consistently delivering high-quality matches and earning the respect of his peers and fans alike. He has also been a popular character on television, with his laid-back, surfer-like persona resonating with audiences.

It is unclear how long Riddle will be away from WWE, but it is likely that he will be missed by both the company and the fans. Many will be hoping for a speedy recovery or resolution to the situation, whichever is applicable, so that Riddle can return to the ring and continue to showcase his talents.

In the meantime, WWE will have to find a way to fill the void left by Riddle’s absence. This may involve pushing other wrestlers into higher positions on the card or bringing in new talent to take his place. Whatever the solution, it will be a challenging task to replace a wrestler as talented and popular as Riddle.
