Terri Runnels Released From Jail, Says Bringing Handgun To Airport Was ‘Simple Mistake’

Runnels Released From Police Custody

Terri Runnels was released from jail this afternoon after she was arrested this morning at Tampa International Airport.

Runnels, who was on her way from Tampa to Allentown, PA to make an appearance at the Samu Benefit show was apprehended for having a loaded handgun in her bag prior to boarding the plane.

Runnels was released at 1:04 p.m. after posting $2000 bond, and is now back at her home 20 minutes outside Tampa.

According to Runnels, she brings her handgun with her to her mother’s house due to Armadillos which interfere with her livestock. She only had 8 hours sleep, and says she forgot her gun was still in her handbag.

Runnels calls the situation a “simple mistake”.
