Despite still being advertised for Wrestlemania 36, Roman Reigns did not compete at the tapings last week at the Performance Center in Orlando, FL.

Reigns confirmed that he made the decision to not compete in this year’s event in a recent Instagram video.

Ariel Helwani of ESPN spoke to Triple H, asking why the WWE has yet to acknowledge Reigns being off the card.

“It’s a funny thing, I think you watch our business in different ways, and one of them is the storyline aspect. Another way is the online component, and the reality behind it.” Triple H stated. “Roman has his situation, and his reasons for doing the things that he’s doing.”

Triple H explained that WWE doesn’t want to give away the “end of the movie, before the movie takes place”, and the company plans on writing him out of the match in a unique way.

“I will say from our standpoint, and the storyline standpoint, it’s going to play out in a unique manner, and we want it to play out that way. I don’t want to give away the end of the movie, before the movie takes place. I think everyone just has to watch, and see how thing unfolds. It will unfold in a unique way, and I think it will be meaningful.”

WWE has one more episode of SmackDown before Wrestlemania 36, where it’s expected an announcement will be made.

Braun Strowman did face Brock Lesnar at the Wrestlemania 36 tapings.
