Rey Mysterio may not be out of action as long as once thought.

During Sunday’s Payback pay-per-view Rey Mysterio suffered a torn right triceps during a tag team match with his son Dominik Mysterio against Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy. He was scheduled to face Seth Rollins in a one-on-one match the next night on RAW, but was replaced by Dominik due to injury.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Mysterio’s injury is not expected to keep him on the shelf for more than two months, as surgery is not required. The belief is he suffered a partial tear, which is the reason why he won’t miss much action.

Earlier this summer, Edge suffered a full tear on his triceps, which required surgery, resulting him in missing in-ring action for the remainder of the year.

Rey Mysterio made an appearance on this week’s edition of Monday Night RAW, his right arm was visibly bandaged during an interview segment.
