Update: Vince McMahon announced 4 members of each brand will now be able to utilize the “Wild Card Rule”.

Vince McMahon announced tonight an added twist to the Superstar Shake-up, The Wild Card Rule.

Smackdown stars Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan, and Kofi Kingston all appeared in the opening segment of RAW tonight. Reigns announced on social media that he had “unfinished business” on RAW.

Despite being told not to show up, Reigns ended up telling Vince McMahon that he doesn’t answer to him, he only answers to the WWE Universe. Daniel Bryan then came to the ring, and stated he spent the last month in seclusion due to his loss at Wrestlemania. Kofi Kingston arrived, and told Bryan if he had a problem, he could have  spoke to him rather than approach Vince McMahon.

Vince McMahon proceed to have an “epiphany”, and introduced The Wild Card Rule. This new rule allows three members of RAW to show up on Smackdown from time to time, and three members of Smackdown to show up on RAW.

Vince McMahon announced two Wrestlemania 35 re-matches tonight on RAW. Roman Reigns will face Drew McIntyre, and Daniel Bryan will face Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship

This added twist to the Superstar Shake-up is clearly a response to declining ratings. The company cancelled tonight’s live event in Baron, KY in order to have Smackdown stars appear on RAW.
