The Money in the Bank pay-per-view promises to be one of the most exciting in recent memory.
Both ladder matches for the men and women will be taking place simultaneously at WWE
Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut, with the briefcases hanging high above the ring at the top of
the building.

There are so many questions already been asked by the WWE Universe, with many pondering what
death-defying stunts we could be about to witness this weekend. The idea of a superstar being
thrown off the building has been something that has been reported by various outlets already, but
while there is sure to be no shortage of dramatic stunts; it is less known who the woman that will be
the new Ms Money in the Bank will be. But, who are the front runners to claim the prize this
weekend?

Shayna Baszler

It’s almost impossible to look past the former NXT Women’s champion as the outstanding choice in
the match, as she would thrive having the briefcase. The honour almost certainly works better with a
heel, and there aren’t much hotter than Baszler in the WWE at present. Fans had been looking
forward to her main roster debut for months, and when she finally arrived to oppose Becky Lynch,
many believed it would only be a matter of time before she became Raw Women’s champion.
However, the former NXT star came up short in their match at WrestleMania, which came as a
surprise to many. This would be the perfect opportunity to propel Baszler back into the main event
picture on Raw. There would be more questions should she not win this match, as fans would then
be unsure about where she goes next.

Nia Jax

The WWE have been pushing Nia Jax hard since she made her return to weekly television following
WrestleMania. Nia Jax has been making headlines away from the ring as he has been calling out
Ronda Rousey for hurting Alexa Bliss in their match a few years ago, which has led to a back and
forth between Jax and Rousey. There is certainly more interest in the former women’s champion at
present, and the WWE could cash in on that by having her win the briefcase.
The idea of Jax having the possibility to cash-in whenever she pleases would be a grave concern for
Lynch’s title reign, as her days as champion could be numbered. It would certainly be set for Jax to
win the briefcase and then set up a match with Rousey, as that would be something that the WWE
Universe would love to see.

Asuka

The final realistic contender in the women’s ladder match is Asuka. She has been lost in the pack
over recent months as she has been involved in the tag team picture against Bliss and Nikki Cross.
However, the last few episodes of Raw would indicate that Asuka is back in the title picture as she
has continuously been sharing the ring with Jax and Baszler. There are very few more talented
wrestlers on the roster than Asuka, and fans would certainly love to see her win the briefcase.

There is a clear story that can be continued between Asuka and Lynch, as the two recently squared
off at the Royal Rumble PPV. However, from the leading contenders, she is still considered the
outsider, which means a win for Asuka looks unlikely. Regardless, she will put on an excellent display and could be the realistic dark horse in this match, like an outsider in the Preakness Stakes odds. The winner of the match will likely be between these three women, as Carmella, Dana Brooke and Lacey Evans look unlikely according to the odds.
