WWE is reporting Edge underwent surgery following an injury that occurred at Backlash.

The company confirmed Edge suffered a torn triceps during his match against Randy Orton at the pay-per-view.

WWE Digital has confirmed that Edge suffered a torn triceps as a result of injuries sustained during The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever. Edge has undergone successful surgery and is currently rehabbing at home.

WWE made a number of edits during the match, which was pre-taped the match on June 7.

Dave Meltzer revealed on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE did a number of retakes during the match to ensure it lived up to the hype.

It’s unknown when when the injury occured during the match, but it was reportedly during one of the retakes.
