Despite being released from WWE last December, WWE has filed two trademarks for the name with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

WWE filed two merchandise trademarks for the name Sin Cara on 10/21. WWE already owns an active trademark for the name Sin Cara for use in wrestling performances. That trademark expires in 2023.
