In an update from yesterday’s report regarding NXT Takeover being replaced by World’s Collide Royal Rumble weekend, the WWE issued a statement.

WWE began promoting Royal Rumble travel packages yesterday, listing World’s Collide at the Toyota Center on 1/25/2020, the day before Royal Rumble.  This caused much confusion, as the day prior to major pay-per-view’s is usually reserved for NXT Takeoever events.

WWE issued the following statement.

“That event will be Worlds Collide. The schedule of the 2020 NXT TakeOver Events will be out in the near future.”

WWE promoted two World’s Collide events in 2019, one during Royal Rumble Axxess, and the second during Wrestlemania Axxess.  The matches were pre-taped, and later shown on the WWE Network. The event during Royal Rumble weekend  featyred competitors from NXT, NXT UK, and 205 Live. During Wrestlemania Axxess, the company added talent from RAW and SmackDown Live.
