WWE Cashes In On Army Of The Dead Partnership

During last weekend’s Wrestlemania Backlash pay-per-view, the advertised lumberjack match between Damien Priest and The Miz ended up being a branded partnership with Netflix’s original movie Army of The Dead, starring former WWE star Dave Bautista.

As first reported by Ringside News and later confirmed by Dave Meltzer, WWE made seven figures from the partnership in a deal brokered by WWE President & Chief Revenue Officer Nick Khan. The report notes WWE brokered a deal with Warner Bros. worth over $1 million.

WWE used talent from the Performance Center to portray zombies. The following video was uploaded, showing the transformations ahead of the show.

Army of The Dead promotion was featured throughout the pay-per-view, with the cold open narrated by Dave Bautista. Army of The Dead logos were shown during replays throughout the night.
