Charly Caruso Reportedly Has Backstage Heat

If you’ve been wondering why Charly Caruso has been off of regular WWE programming a new report from Fightful Select has the answer.

According to the report, Caruso garnered some heat backstage after being late for interviews she was conducting with talent, ones that were meant to air on Monday Night Raw. There were specific instances of lateness with top superstars Randy Orton and Sheamus that led to WWE pulling Caruso from TV.

The report adds that Vince McMahon did take exception to Caruso’s tardiness on occasion, but a source indicated that she is one “injury or illness” away from being back in hot water. That same source also indicated to Fightful that new signee Kevin Patrick could have been brought in to replace Caruso in the long run.

Caruso regularly covered NXT back in 2016 prior to her work on the main roster, which included hosting the red brand’s Raw Talk program. She signed with ESPN back in 2018 and has been working for the sports titan, as well as WWE, ever since. In an Instagram post, she wrote, “I’ll be doing a few things at ESPN from time to time for now, including SportsCenter updates and hosting the SportsCenter on Snapchat show. I’m still in disbelief. WWE + ESPN = KILLER COMBO! I am so incredible appreciative and fortunate for both of these wonderful opportunities!”

Caruso was also involved in a love storyline with former NXT cruiserweight champion Angel Garza, but the angle eventually was dropped.
