Brock Lesnar defeated Kofi Kingston in record time, executing an F-5 to gain the win, and the championship.

Following the match, Rey Mysterio’s music hit, and he came to ring alongside former UFC Champion Cain Velasquez.

Valaquez hit Lesnar with a spear, and began feeding him shots. Lesnar eventually rolled out of the ring, and teased a showdown for the crowd tonight in Los Angeles.

WWE is clearly building a big showdown between the two. Velasquez defeated Lesnar for the UFC Championship in 2010.

According to MMA Junkie, Velasquez is expected to withdraw from the USADA testing pool, with plans to retire from active MMA competition to focus on pro-wrestling.

  • Cain Velasquez has been working with AAA in Mexico, and has one match left on his deal with the promotion.  It’s unknown how his AAA deal affects him working in WWE. His matches in AAA highlight his technical abilities, working the luchador style. WWE is reportedly looking would position him as a serious fighter in order to build a match with Brock Lesnar.
