CM Punk WWE Backstage Recap

The wrestling world has been buzzing since CM Punk made an appearance on WWE Backstage last Tuesday.

Renee Young had a sit down interview with CM Punk during tonight’s episode on FS1. Punk spoke on a number of topics including making it clear that he not a WWE employee, and he works for FOX.

Punk says wrestling fans needs someone who tells it like it is, and he feels him joining the show will facilitate that need, even if it rubs people the wrong way. When asked about how many people knew about him joining WWE Backstage, he stated his inner circle is very small since leaving WWE, 10-12 people were aware of him signing with FOX.

He was critical on a few things WWE is currently doing, including how overproduced the product is, and how it’s too micromanaged. He states he loves the women in WWE, but feels the company is forcing the Women’s Revolution, and believes the women should just “be women”.

Renee Young asked the million dollar question whether he will return to the ring. Punk didn’t want to give anyone false hope, and stated he is not actively pursuing a comeback, but has live an experienced life to know to not say never say never.

Punk also judged Promo School with special guest David Arquette. Punk gave Arquette a F- on his promo, saying it was “less promo and more like battle rap”.
