Dominik Mysterio is beginning to carve his own path since joining WWE, becoming one of the top babyfaces on Monday Night RAW.
During an interview with Metro News, Mysterio recalls the classic storyline between his father Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero in 2005.
The rivalry between Guerrero and Mysterio resulted in a ladder match at SummerSlam, to determine who was would gain custody of Dominik.
Dominik, who was 8-years old at the time had fond memories of working alongside his father and Eddie Guerrero.
“I remember that storyline vividly,’ Dominik stated. “Being able to work with the great Eddie Guerrero, first person I ever got to work with. I’m very blessed. ‘As an eight year old, I was excited to skip school and travel with my dad and get given candy by Eddie. It was a great time.”
“I remember in between takes that we would do of vignettes, he would give me Twizzlers, Red Vines, Lemonheads, bunch of candy”
He also reflected on the challenges he faced at school, with students and even teachers wondering who his real father was.
‘For me, it was harder to have to explain to the kids at school who my dad was. I think that was the most challenging part, ” Dominik stated “‘Oh yeah, 100% people were coming up to me asking me – even teachers, they were like, “Who’s your father, Dominik?” I’d be like, “Well it’s Rey Mysterio, this guy right here, Oscar”. It was crazy.’”
