Following rumors of a sale to WWE, Evolve Wrestling has no plans to run any events for the future.

According to David Bixenspan of Forbes, Evolve VP of Talent Relations Gabe Sapolsky posted a message on a private Facebook group instructing those in the company that shows were no longer planed going forward.

We have no plans to run shows so we are going to eliminate this group this week and delete it. I mean [WWN owner] Sal [Hamaoui] isn’t even on Facebook anymore,

Sapolsky’s message didn’t specify the promotion was folding, but did reveal there will be a change happening.

This is not the end of the road, just taking a different path from this fork in the road,” Sapolsky stated. “Stay in touch.”

According to PWTorch, sources close to the situation indicate that WWN, the parent company of Evolve will continue to operate, but Evolve will be on hiatus.

The report also states that WWE purchasing the promotion is not true, despite rumors circulating over the last few weeks.

Last year, an Evolve event was featured on the WWE Network. There have been many rumors about WWE buying out Evolve and Evolve parent company WWN ceasing operations in recent weeks, but sources tell PWTorch that those rumors are not true.

WWE and Evolve have no confirmed or denied reports of a sale.
