Matt Riddle Wants NXT To Grow Bigger Than RAW and Smackdown

Matt Riddle signed a deal with WWE last July, and quickly made a name for himself with NXT since his debut last October.

The former MMA fighter, and independent wrestler star has gained mainstream notoriety since being signed with the WWE.

TMZ recently caught up with Riddle, and asked for his opinion on the differences between NXT and the main roster.

Riddle feels that the NXT brand is different, and not the “same kind of watered down child’s product that the WWE has turned into”.

[bs-quote quote=”“I think we’re just different. We are new and fresh, and not the same kind of watered down child’s product that WWE’s has turned into a lot. So people watch us even though it’s scripted a lot of the time, it’s more real. It’s more believable.”” style=”default” align=”center” author_job=” “][/bs-quote]

The intent of Riddle’s statement didn’t seem malicious, but rather highlighting how special NXT has become over the years.

When asked if he would eventually want to go to the main roster, he explained that due to the level that NXT is on right now, maybe staying wouldn’t be such a bad thing, if they could try and surpass RAW and Smackdown as a brand.

[bs-quote quote=”“I want to get to the main roster, but then I was thinking, but then I was thinking about it wrong, because NXT is so hot, maybe we should stay and try and build NXT, and make it bigger than RAW and Smackdown”” style=”default” align=”center”][/bs-quote]
