Stephanie Bell, better known as WWE star Mia Yim has filed trademark to secure her in-ring name.

Bell, who currently works as Reckoning in the Retribution stable, filed trademark for the name “Mia Yim” on 10/8 with The United States Patent and Trademark Office.

The trademark filing included several screenshots showing she has used the name as a professional wrestler, dating back to 2009. The filing was done outside WWE.

WWE currently has an active trademark filing for Mia Yim, which the United States Patent and Trademark Office will cancel later this year. The trademark office sent WWE a letter on 6/11, asking the company to provide a consent letter for the name, but the company has yet to comply with that request.

The following reason was provided to WWE for the cancellation of the filing. WWE has until 12/11 to provide the updated documentation, with Mia Yim’s signature consenting to the registration.

Registration is refused because the applied-for mark consists of or comprises a name, portrait, or signature identifying a particular living individual whose written consent to register the mark is not of record.

Yim filed the trademark on her own, and attached a consent letter for her filing. It’s unknown how WWE will respond to Yim filing the trademark on her own.
