Recent WWE signee Mercedes Martinez is heading to NXT television one day after starting at the WWE Performance Center.
During tonight’s episode of WWE Backstage, Ryan Satin revealed that Martinez will be competing in the NXT Women’s Battle Royal during Wednesday night’s episode.
The winner of that match will receive a shot at the NXT Women’s Championship at NXT Takeover: Portland on 2/16.

Martinez competed in both Mae Young Classic tournaments, and has appeared on NXT television in the past.
Mercedez Martinez began training in 2000 under Jason Knight. She has competed for various promotions over her 20-year career including ROH, WXW, STARDOM, and SHINE Wrestling.
