Following a number of positive COVID-19 tests last month, All Elite Wrestling updated their prevention strategy, instructing talent to get at-home testing in addition to on-site testing prior to AEW Dynamite tapings.

The company faced positive cases roughly at the same time as the recent WWE outbreak, which changed a number of plans with NXT talent.

Dave Meltzer noted in the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW has shifted some blame on their recent positive cases to talent socializing with WWE wrestlers.

“AEW has had one outbreak, which they blame on wrestler’s socializing and things like that with WWE talent.” Meltzer stated. “It started there, however it happened – Lance Archer obviously did not get it from WWE talent, so it’s more than that, there’s just too many ways to get it, it’s going to be a real tense time.”

All Elite Wrestling consulted with NFL’s COVID Response Team on their testing process. The company faced multiple positive cases from talent who were present at the 9/9 tapings.
