On June 26, 2018, Fox announced a five-year agreement with WWE to air SmackDown in a deal worth $205 million per year.

WWE’s debut episode Friday Night SmackDown on FOX gained saw a massive viewership increase with 3.88 million viewers. Now that the dust has settled, SmackDown’s viewership has declined following its third week on the network.

Despite the decline in viewership, FOX is reportedly pleased with the deal they have with WWE.

Fightful Select reports, “One source at Fox said that the company is happy with WWE and how things have gone so far.”

Viewership for this past Friday’s SmackDown was 2.44 million viewers, which is still higher than other episode in all of 2019.
