Matt Hardy’s WWE contract will be expiring on 3/1, and is expected to leave the company according to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

“Matt Hardy is expected to leave WWE in March,” Dave Meltzer stated.

Hardy reportedly pitched an idea to WWE to revive his “broken” character, but they were not interested.

He produced new Broken videos and offered an idea for a “Free the Delete” series to lead to his return with the old character. But they (WWE) weren’t interested.

Matt Hardy To Lead AEW’s Dark Order?

The big question right now is what’s next for Matt Hardy if he does decide to leave WWE.

All Elite Wrestling seems to be the choice from those on the outside looking in.

Meltzer speculated that Hardy may eventually be revealed as the leader of The Dark Order.

Hardy is the leading speculated name for the leader of the Dark Order since they just started teasing a leader and Hardy just started putting out the videos

Matt Hardy’s brother Jeff had additional time added to his contract due to injury, and will not be able to leave at the same time as Matt.
