The identity of NXT’s Mei Ying has been revealed.
The last few months in NXT have seen the introduction of Tian Sha, a character who debuted by torturing Xia Li and Boa in vignettes prior to their returns. The character has accompanied Li in every match since her return, however, the identity of the character hasn’t yet been revealed
Fightful Select is reporting that Mei Ying character is currently being portrayed by Karen Q. She hasn’t wrestled since suffering a knee injury in July 2019, however, her last match on television was during the 2018 Mae Young Classic, where she coincidentally lost to Xia Li.
Shortly after the introduction of the character, Karen Yu’s (Karen Q) IMDB page has listed her as the “actress” portraying the character.
The report added that NXT higher-ups Triple H and Shawn Michaels have been impressed by the gimmick thus far, noting that they have been ‘very hands-on with the character and presentation’ and ‘see her having a long-term future.’
