Rey Mysterio Working Without Contract

Top Monday Night RAW star Rey Mysterio is currently working without a WWE contract.

As first reported by Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer, Rey Mysterio’s WWE contract has expired, despite still being an active performer on the roster.

Mysterio’s WWE deal, which he signed in September 2018, has expired but is still working for WWE. Mysterio and his son Dominik have been heavily featured on Raw in a key storyline with Seth Rollins.

Rey Mysterio returned to WWE in September 2018, signing a two-year deal, with the option to give his notice after 18 months.

As of right now it’s unknown if Mysterio plans to sign a new contract, or separate from WWE following his program with Seth Rollins.

In May, Meltzer reported the belief is Mysterio will stay with WWE, despite not signing a new deal at the time. He reportedly doesn’t want to upset WWE, as it may negatively effect his son Dominick’s career.

The report indicates Rey Mysterio is expected to face Seth Rollins at Extreme Rules in an “Eye For An Eye” match, where the winner is decided by “taking out your opponents eye”.
