Akam and Rezar, collectively known as AOP were released from their WWE contracts this past week.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, Rezar was cleared for an in-ring return prior to the team being released from the company.

Rezar suffered a torn bicep this past February, resulting him and his partner Akam from being taken off television. Prior to his injury, the team was aligned with Seth Rollins.

“Rezar was just cleared, and as soon as he was cleared he was cut.” Meltzer stated, “The idea was he was not going to be back with Seth Rollins. They didn’t know where they would be.”

The reason behind their release has yet to be revealed.
