Reigns vs. Femi Planned For WrestleMania 43
Roman Reigns vs. Oba Femi is the current plan for the night two main event of WrestleMania 43.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, via F4WOnline, there has been talk this week that the two main events would be Cody Rhodes vs. CM Punk on night one and Reigns vs. Femi on night two.
"From what we were told, the latter is accurate but the former is not the current plan," Meltzer wrote.
Meltzer said Rhodes vs. Punk would make sense, as they are the two top stars on SmackDown and have been kept apart aside from their August 1 SummerSlam title match. He added that plans will change multiple times before April, whether due to injuries or other situations.
Femi called Reigns out at the Money in the Bank post-show on October 10, saying, "Tribal Chief. No more running. It’s about that time."
This is not the first time the match has come up. WrestleVotes reported on Fightful Select last week that early WrestleMania 43 discussions included both Reigns vs. Femi and Rhodes vs. Punk. That report stressed these were discussed directions, not confirmed matches.
Femi won the 2026 King of the Ring at Night of Champions in Riyadh, beating Jey Uso in the final. Reigns is the current World Heavyweight Champion on Raw. Sami Zayn is the Undisputed WWE Champion on SmackDown.
WWE President Nick Khan said in September that the company is already across the creative for WrestleMania 43, subject to any injury.
WrestleMania 43 is set for April 2027 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the first WrestleMania held outside North America. WWE has not announced the match, and no date for the show has been announced.
