Concerned WWE Star Met With Vince McMahon Regarding Safety Measures

WWE recently implemented a new mandatory mask policy, which must be adhered to while at the Performance Center during television tapings.

Fightful Select (subscription required) provided some insight on how this rule came into place. According to the report, following a few weeks of hiatus due to concerns related to COVID-19, a returning RAW star met with Vince McMahon, which led to the new directive.

This wrestler expressed his concerns, indicating social distancing and mask utilization were not  taken seriously backstage. Following the meeting, Vince McMahon implemented the mask policy, adding fines to those who don’t comply.

WWE had also made other changes, including splitting the RAW and SmackDown tapings to have less people. This reportedly helped ease minds of those who had concerns backstage.

When asked why Vince McMahon didn’t make these changes earlier, one wrestler told Fightful that McMahon typically is inside his office, not aware if directives are being followed.

The name of the returning RAW star who expressed concerns has not been revealed.

WWE’s recent mask policy carries a fine of $500 for the first offence, and $1000 for the second.
