Prior to NXT moving to the USA Network, Shayna Baszler was reportedly groomed to become a major star on the main roster in 2020.
Dave Meltzer noted in today’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE brass thought very highly of Baszler, and plans for her on the main roster were reportedly significant in the new year.
This changed when NXT decided to make the big leap to cable television, moving weekly to USA Network. Bazsler may be kept on the yellow and black brand to help maintain star power on that division now that WWE considers NXT as a third brand in the company.
Shayna Baszler is scheduled to captain the first-ever WarGames match at NXT Takeover: Wargames on 11/23. Baszler will also represent NXT at Survivor Series facing Bayley and Becky Lynch in a Triple Threat Match.
