Ciampa Dealing With Neck Injury

Earlier today, a report from The Wrestling Observer indicated Tommaso Ciampa is dealing with an undisclosed injury, which caused him not to compete this past week on RAW.

Ciampa has been working through the injury, with the idea of getting it taken care of following NXT Takeover: New York.

PWInsider is reporting that Tommaso Ciampa is currently dealing with a neck injury, which has been lingering for at least 4-5 weeks, possibly longer.

The injury caused Ciampa to not be medically cleared this past Monday ahead of RAW. This forced WWE to make alternative creative plans, as Ciampa and Gargano were originally scheduled to compete four-way match.

The original idea this past Monday was to have a four-way match featuring DIY vs. Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins vs. Aleister Black and Ricochet vs. another unconfirmed team. The Revival were slated to be ringside for the match, but once Ciampa was not cleared to compete, they switched it to the the match between Black/Ricochet and The Revival.

There is no word going forward what the plan is for the NXT Champion, but as of this past Monday has not been cleared to compete.
