Triple H has issued a public apology to Paige following a remark made during a press interview ahead of NXT Takeover: Blackpool.

When speaking to Gary Cassidy of Sportskeeda, Paige’s name was mentioned as rumoured talent to return to in-ring action.

“Triple H joked how Paige “probably has kids she doesn’t know” about during the interview

I’d love to see them step into the ring and compete. More importantly though, I’d like to see them live long healthy lives. Edge has kids,  Paige probably has some she doesn’t know of. Their health comes first.

Following the remark, Paige took to Twitter and stated, “Even my boss jokes about me.. no wonder you guys still do it too.”

Gary Cassidy, who was the same interviewer who spoke to Triple H had to chance to follow up with Paige during an interview Wednesday.

“Obviously I was a little bit perplexed, a little bit taken aback, because he’s someone that I truly look up to and he’s always been very respectful, so I feel like he got caught up, maybe, in a joke, that I just don’t think was appropriate to joke about. I don’t know, I feel like it’s something that I don’t need to continually keep talking about because I feel like people have done a pretty good job of that.”

Triple H has now issued a public apology to Paige via Twitter.

“I’ve reached out to @RealPaigeWWE to apologize. I made a terrible joke and I’m sorry if it offended her or anyone else.”

Thanks to Sportskeeda for the quotes.
