WWE has confirmed reports that WWE 2K21 video game has been canceled, and will not be released later this fall.

During Thursday’s Q1 earnings call, Interim Chief Financial Officer Frank Riddick III provided confirmation  when asked if WWE planned on releasing WWE 2K game.

Reports of WWE canceling this year’s instalment of the game came when Justin Leeper, a former cinematic director for THQ’s WWE Smackdown vs. Raw series broke the news via a Youtube video.

2K Games released a statement in April stating “we do not comment on rumors or speculation.”

WWE 2K20 experienced massive backlash, and poor reviews from critics due to a number of gameplay bugs.
