WWE Hall of Famer Bret “The Hitman” Hart has revealed he is suffering from basal cell carcinoma, a form of skin cancer.
Bret Hart revealed the diagnosis on social media Thursday night. He indicated he a procedure scheduled soon for removal of the cancerous lesion.

According to the American Cancer Society, fatalities from basal cell carcinoma are uncommon. Cancers of the skin are the most common of all types of cancer.
Depending on the size of the cancerous lesion, recovery could take 4 to 6 weeks after the procedure is completed.
In 2016, Bret Hart was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. He fully recovered the following year after successful surgery.
Hart suffered a stroke in 2002 after hitting his head in a bicycle accident. Following the accident he was partially paralyzed, but made a successful recovery.
Bret Hart has been an advocate for men’s health following his Prostate Cancer diagnosis. He regularly works with the Calgary Prostate Centre urging men of 40 to get screened.
Bret’s older brother Smith Hart passed away following a battle with Stage 4 Prostate Cancer in 2017.
Bret Hart is still scheduled to appear at Wrestlecon 2020 on 4/3 and 4/4 at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, Florida.
