WWE taped the November 6 episode of SmackDown on November 2 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, after Raw went off the air.
The taping was held early because WWE is travelling to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for Crown Jewel on Saturday, November 7. The November 6 episode will still air in its regular slot, at 8 p.m. ET on USA Network in the United States and on Netflix internationally.
Spoilers for the taped episode follow below.
According to Fightful, with spoilers courtesy of F4WOnline, the show opened with Gunther cutting a promo. Gunther said he was not scared at Halloween SmackDown, said Finn Balor’s career is barely hanging on, and criticized Balor for aligning with Danhausen. He challenged Balor to confront him, Balor did, and a brawl followed that ended with Balor running Gunther off.
Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Tama Tonga in singles action, finishing the match with the Kinshasa.
The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match between champions B-Fab and Michin and Fatal Influence members Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid ended without a winner. The match broke down after interference involving Tatum Paxley, Bayley, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss and Jade Cargill, and a WarGames match was teased for Survivor Series.
SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis put over WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green, and Green said she wants to prove she belongs and leave a legacy by defeating Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan at Crown Jewel. Morgan and Green also exchanged words ahead of their Crown Jewel Championship match.
Damian Priest defeated Nathan Frazer by referee stoppage after Frazer was hurt at the announcer’s table. Priest then attacked Axiom after the match.
Sami Zayn cut a promo about his Crown Jewel Championship match against Roman Reigns, saying he will not be overlooked again and that Reigns was looking up at him on Raw. Jimmy Uso came out to confront Zayn.
In the main event, Kevin Owens defeated CM Punk in a No Holds Barred match. Punk hit the Go To Sleep, but Owens rebounded off the ropes and struck Punk with a fist wrapped in a chain to get the win.
That result closes the go home SmackDown for Crown Jewel, with Owens getting the win over Punk just one night before WWE heads to Riyadh.
