WWE Million Dollar Championship Reportedly Returning

WWE is reportedly bringing back the Million Dollar Championship, a title first introduced by Ted DiBiase.

According to Andrew Zarian of The Mat Men Podcast, this week’s Million Dollar Face-Off between Cameron Grimes and Ted DiBiase is when the belt will be re-introduced to WWE television.

He’s gonna appear in the ring next week with Grimes…Million Dollar Belt is back…I can confirm the Million Dollar Belt is back baby!

Ted DiBiase has appeared on NXT television over the last few weeks, working an angle with Cameron Grimes. Last week’s episode saw DiBiase make an in-person appearance at the Capitol Wrestling Center.

In 1989, Ted DiBiase purchased the belt after failed attempts at winning or buying the WWE Championship. The title was retired from WWE television in 1992, but re-introduced and awarded to The Ringmaster (Steve Austin) in 1996. The title was abandoned shortly after his debut.

In 2010, Ted DiBiase Jr. began using the title, stating his father gave him the belt. He appeared on television for several months with the belt before it was abandoned later that year.

WWE NXT will air this Tuesday, April 25 on USA Network.
