WWE has found a loophole to circumvent travel restrictions imposed for those arriving in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

On June 24, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo signed an executive order requiring all travellers who are arriving from COVID-19 hot spots quarantine for 14 days. This hasn’t stopped WWE traveling between states.

The executive order stated the following.

All travelers entering New York from a state with a positive test rate higher than 10 per 100,000 residents, or higher than a 10% test positivity rate, over a seven day rolling average, will be required to quarantine for a period of 14 days consistent with Department of Health regulations for quarantine.

Dave Meltzer provided some details in this week’s edition The Wrestling Observer Newsletter on how WWE is skirting these regulations.

WWE has evaded this order, instructing those who live in Connecticut or New York fly from Orlando to Philadelphia, where mandatory quarantine isn’t imposed.

We do know that the plan going forward to subvert the quarantine, including this week, was for the people in those states to instead fly out of Philadelphia to Orlando, and back to Philadelphia, and drive from there back to Connecticut or New York for those who live there.

In March, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis order a 14-day self-quarantine for travellers from New York, Connecticut and New Jersey, and New York. WWE circumvented that order, departing flights from Philadelphia to Orlando to get around Florida’s restrictions.

Florida recorded nearly 9,000 new coronavirus cases on Friday in one-day record.

Those caught in violation of this order are subject to a penalty of up to $10,000.
