Abandoned Gaming Trademark Revived 

WWE has applied to revive an abandoned trademark related to its gaming division.

On 1/6, WWE legal filed an application to revive a trademark for ‘Left Right Left Right’, the United States Patent and Trademark Office granted the request, entering a new application in the database on 1/7.

 

WWE claims they did not receive notification from the USPTO, which indicated the trademark would be abandoned.

Applicant has firsthand knowledge that the failure to respond to the Office Action by the specified deadline was unintentional. The signatory did not receive the Office action prior to the expiration of the six-month response period, and requests the USPTO to revive the abandoned application and reissue the Office Action.

The trademark was initially denied due to confusion with a DJ from Dallas who uses the moniker ‘Left/Right’.

Dallas DJ trademark for LEFT/RIGHT“Disc jockey services; Entertainment services in the nature of live audio performances by music artist; Entertainment services in the nature of live musical performances; Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a music artist; Entertainment, namely, live music concerts; Live performances by a musical group; Production of musical sound recording; Production of musical videos; Providing a website featuring non-downloadable videos in the field of music by a musical artist.”

‘Left Right Left Right’ is an offshoot of WWE’s ‘Up Up Down Down’ Youtube series.

WWE Files Trademark For Katrina Cortez

On 1/7, WWE also filed trademark for NXT wrestler Katrina Cortez, who previously used the names Catalina and Carolina. She had a brief stint on the main roster teaming with Sin Cara. Prior to signing with WWE, she went under the name Jessy.
