The next live premium WWE events are soon coming together. During Friday’s edition of Smackdown, two of the most anticipated matches were announced.

The all-time Champion Roman Reigns was in for a shock as he was challenged to a fight for the 19^th Feb Elimination Chamber Event. There was also some action on the female side as Ronda Rousey, the Royal Rumble champion, openly said she would like to use her victory to challenge Charlotte Flair at the Wrestle Mania.

The two matches were an addition to others scheduled for upcoming events like Madcap Moss vs. Drew McIntyre’s awaited battle at the Elimination Chamber.

Goldberg Challenges Roman Reigns

Paul Heyman of the Bloodline started off the show with an in-ring promo stating that the brothers were there to acknowledge the previous happenings. Heyman clearly said that the turning against Brock Lesner during the Royal Rumble match was not a planned scheme. Instead, he stated he realized he was at fault after upsetting Reigns.

Lesner went ahead and displayed his wrong side after coming down to SmackDown and winning the https://www.wwe.com/ Championship and challenging Reigns to a title vs. title match. Reigns were upset and attacked Lesner at the Royal Rumble, ultimately losing the WWE title. Heyman discovered that rather than protect Reigns from Lesner, he needed to do the complete opposite. After Reigns reached out to Heyman and forgave him for his past sins, it was a forgiveness moment.

After this declaration, the WWE legend Goldberg walked to the ring and sarcastically claimed that he highly acknowledged Reigns but not as anything else other than his next victim. The WWE legend then officially challenged Reigns for a match at the Elimination Chamber Event happening soon. The match was later officially confirmed. Goldberg will again challenge for the coveted world title gold.

There are many controversies as fans are concerned about the Royal Rumble not including young talents in the competition. It is sick to think that anyone would currently care about an additional Goldberg title match. It doesn’t make sense that the old folks can walk-in in any event and quickly receive a title match.

Ronda Rousey Challenges Charlotte Flair

Sonya Deville took on the stage to announce that Ronda Rousey had decided to challenge Becky Lynch in the upcoming Wrestle Mania. This ultimately means that Charlotte Flair needs to have a WrestleMania opponent. Charlotte Flair replied by saying this was no surprise to her and wondered what Ronda Rousey had been doing as she dominated the WWE. She went on to say that she wouldn’t pick anyone who was in the building as her opponent. She later disclosed that she would face Sasha Banks.

Rousey then came on stage as her music hit. She claimed that Charlotte Flair wasn’t unique in any way, and she would independently pick her opponent. Charlotte then countered by saying that the Smackdown title is her baby, and it is more beautiful than Rousey’s kid. Well, hell broke loose, and efforts to contain Rousey to avoid her being violent turned futile. Right after Rousey locked Deville in armbar, the show went off the air and threw her on the mat.

Deville and Flair had a short rumble after announcing a match with Banks. Rousey, however, showed up and announced that she wanted to challenge Charlotte Flair. The match was officially confirmed, leaving Banks as a mere name mentioned in an ongoing promo.

Additional Smackdown Highlights?

Aliyah defeated Natalya through a count-out, becoming her third time to beat Natalya. Natalya requested she gets an additional match with Aliyah strictly under the pinfall or submissions rule.

Ricochet beat Ridge Holland through a pinfall after some outside distraction that immediately triggered a tag match.

Sheamus and Ridge Holland defeated Ricochet and Cesaro through a pinfall after Cesaro received a Northern Grit hit from Holland.

Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Jinder Mahal after hitting a Kinshasa through pinfall.

Sonya Deville granted Naomi a shot at the 11^th Feb Smackdown edition at the SmackDown women’s championship to avoid a one-on-one match challenge with Naomi.
