WWE Signs European Star WALTER
The WWE has been working for several months in securing one of the biggest wrestling stars in Europe. Today, PWInsider is confirming that Austrian star WALTER has signed a deal with the WWE.
For several months news has been circulating on WWE’s interest on the 31 year old. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer first reported back in February on WWE’s interest in both Keith Lee and WALTER. The WWE did sign Keith Lee, but WALTER’s deal finally came to terms recently.
With the WWE expanding their UK division, and eventually expanding to different parts of Europe, a signee like WALTER brings next level talent to the brand.
In March, WALTER publicly denied he has been offered a deal with the WWE, after the original story surfaced that the company was interested in him.
WALTER was recently contacted by PWG to do a farewell appearance in December, but that was reportedly stopped by the WWE.
WALTER is expected to work for NXT UK, and it’s unknown whether he will be joining the Performance Center class on 1/15 in Orlando, or working directly with the UK division.
