Early Tuesday morning news broke that Dean Ambrose has provided WWE his notice, and has no plans to renew his contract once it expires.
The story, which originally was reported by PWTorch states that Ambrose provided his notice over the weekend, and plans to exit the company following Wrestlemania 35.
Mike Johnson at PWInsider added that Ambrose was offered a 5-year deal, worth over one million dollars per year, which he declined.
Johnson provided additional details during his PWInsider Elite hotline this afternoon stating that Ambrose met with various members of management over the weekend, with his final meeting being last night during Monday Night RAW.
Dean Ambrose’s plans not to sign a new deal is strictly due to him not being happy in the company, and has nothing to do with him trying to get more money.
Johnson added the current date he heard when Ambrose contract ends is either at the end of April, or beginning of May.
As of right now it’s business as usual, and the WWE has plans for Ambrose storyline wise, and could continue to try and convince the former WWE Champion to re-sign with the company.
They could offer him a short-term deal, more creative control, or even a modified schedule.
As of right now Dean Ambrose is scheduled to remain on the road for the company, until his contract expires.
