John Cena may be joining the next Suicide Squad movie.
According to Variety, Cena is in talks to to join Idris Elba and Margot Robbie in the follow-up to 2016’s Suicide Squad movie. It’s unknown which character Cena is is in talks for.
James Gunn will write and direct the film, which is slated to go into production this fall. The film tentatively has a release date for August 6, 2021.
If casted, this will be Cena’s first comic-book role. Cena has had success in Hollywood over the years, and his most recent film ‘Playing With Fire’ just wrapped up production last month.
Warner Brothers would not provide a comment to the story
